I've ditched the Imperial Fists. I dumped all the yellow-painted marines into some Simple Green three days ago, and brushed them with an old tooth brush today before dumping 'em back in for a second soak to get the rest of the left over paint out of the crevices and small, hard-to-reach spots. You were right. Simple Green seems to work well for removing the paint. Interestingly, it removes the paint off of the more basic marine models (the ones you get in the battlebox) better than it does the more complex marine models (the ones you get in the tactical squad box). I'm guessing there is a difference in the chemical content of the plastics used for the different sets.
Anyway, I'm still not settled on a new chapter. I'm pretty excited to be starting fresh though. I've pretty much narrowed the list down to three chapters, the Iron Hands, the Dark Hands, and the Raptors. I like the fluff of the Iron Hands (Kim was telling me about them the other day) but I like the color scheme and chapter markings for the Dark Hands. The fact that they are also a successor chapter to the Fists helps reduce the sense of betrayal I feel over leaving the Sons of Dorn behind. Rogal Dorn was as upright as they come without being overly perfect, like Guilliman, but yellow is a pain to paint. I tried a couple different techniques, but neither worked as well as they seemed to work online. I've heard airbrushing yellow helps a lot, but I'm not quite ready to invest in one yet and I've heard they take some time to get used to. The Raptors just look cool and I like that they're given some attention in the Forgeworld books.
So, we'll see. I'll let the former IF marines soak until this weekend and by then I should be decided on which chapter I'll choose. I'll let you know.

P.S. I forgot to mention that I found my camera. As soon as I get to painting, you'll see some pics here.
